Habitat for Humanity International’s Women Build program has set May 3-May 11th, 2014 as Habitat’s sixth annual National Women Build Week.  This is a week to highlight the work that U.S. Women Build crews do throughout the year.  It is about empowering women to make a difference in their communities and to be part of the solution to poverty housing by building homes for partner families in need.  This year, Habitat Suffolk was selected as one of the 300 affiliates participating in National Women Build Week festivities. We held our annual Lowe’s sponsored Women Build How-To clinics at the Medford Lowe’s on April 30th, it was a smashing success, thanks to all who came out and participated.  We hope you had as much fun as we did!  We also held a build day on Saturday May 3rd, thanks to all the women that came out and swung some hammers with us!  We will be building with another group of amazing women this Friday, we are looking forward to that as well!

If you missed out on this year’s Women Build but want to know about the program or participate in next year’s events, send me an email!  I will be sure to add you to the mailing list!  You can email me at steph@habitatsuffolk.org
