More than building homes, we build communities, hope, and the opportunity for families to help themselves. Habitat sponsorships help families build long-term financial security. With an affordable, stable home, families have more to spend on food, medicine, child care, education and other essentials. When you become a Habitat Sponsor, you become a part of a larger group of Long Islanders that believe that every family deserves the stability and financial security that comes with homeownership.

For a visual look at how a partnership with Habitat Suffolk works, and the impact that partnership has on your company, organization, or group, click to play this short, 2 minute video below:

Align your brand with ours to show you’re invested in the community

There are many different sponsorship and partnership opportunities with Habitat, from sponsoring a house build, a fundraising event, to longer term partnerships or gift-in-kind arrangements, there are several ways to get your group involved. With your partnership with any one of our opportunities, you’ll be gaining valuable exposure for your business in your own community and throughout Suffolk County.

Position yourself as a community leader

Connect with people that share your values!

Habitat Partners are able to reach thousands of volunteers, tradespeople, event participants, community leaders, and other businesses. Very few charities have the global recognition and local goodwill associated with Habitat for Humanity.

The majority of people that are interested in donating to or working with Habitat are people that want to make a difference in our community and make the world a better place. They are people that have the funds, the time and/or the desire to make this happen.

Think outside the box

Employee Giving Programs

Encourage your employees to get involved in eliminating substandard housing from our community! Many companies offer their employees a unique way to give back. If you watched the video highlighted above, you can see just how Zebra Technologies was able to utilize their employee give back program to partner with us on a major level! Habitat Suffolk can work with you to develop giving programs for your workplace or work within the parameters of your existing ones to help sponsor all or part of a home. The opportunities are endless!

Here are a few examples of programs that already exist or that you could implement:

  • Payroll Deductions
  • Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Funds
  • Volunteer Hours Matched with Dollars
  • Employee Jeans Days or similar events
  • Peer to Peer Fundraising *ask us about our platform!

WHY WE ASK YOU TO DONATE

On average, each Habitat Suffolk house costs about $200,000 to build. These group contributions are one of our most important sources of funding. Your donation helps us purchase the building materials for the day and provide the necessary training and supervision needed for a successful team build day. Funds can be raised by individuals, companies, or through matching funds and other grants. All donations are tax deductible, Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk strives to be a good steward of the donor dollars entrusted to us. We are proud to be able to tell our donors that thanks to the success of our ReStore program, 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to our programs in Suffolk County! In recognition of our leadership’s accountability and organizational transparency, Habitat Suffolk was recently awarded the highest recognitions provided by the not-for-profit oversight organizations Guidestar (Gold) and Charity Navigator (Four-Star)! We are so proud of these designations and are committed to continuing to enhance our organization’s management and administrative oversight.
