Emphasis on Education, Hard Work, and Community Involvement

There are many ways to be involved with Habitat for Humanity on an individual and group basis that don't require a hard hat. One of the ways you can do this is through participation in Build-a-Backpack, an annual program that provides school supplies and backpacks to Habitat kids for the upcoming school year! Backpacks will then be distributed at Habitat's Back to School Picnic in mid-August. We believe Build-a-Backpack introduces Habitat kids to our continual emphasis on education, hard work, and community involvement.

This opportunity is perfect for individuals or groups that aren't quite old enough to be onsite, or might not be comfortable building, but still want to be an integral part of Habitat Suffolk's mission. Our goal is and always has been to provide decent homes for deserving families to live and grow, and to keep building until everyone in our communities and around the world have a decent place to call home.

Thanks so much to the many donors who help make this program so successful each year; we hope you will participate again! Below is a suggested supply list. Please contact Lindsey if you need additional information about the program or to register as a donor. Thank you so very much for your time and consideration!
